We had new carpet installed in our living reside one week ago. Is it safe to let my 9 month old crawl on it now? We have an air purifier going in that room that is supposed to remove gases and chemicals (not only a basic HEPA purifier, this one has the carbon filter too). What do you think?

A: have you extremely vacuumed it to remove all the loose fibers that tend to come out in new carpeting -if yes it should be fine

My son has allergies and the doc is reconmending an air purifier.Do they effort, would you reconmend getting one? Not sure what I am looking for when it comes to features on them and don't know what brands are paraphernalia. Also I have heard about people installing some sort of purifier on their furnace. How much does this cost and does it work? Looking for any thoughts or announce to. thanks

A: I've never tried an air purifier. I have a humidifier, and I find that it does a fairly good job. I might recommend trying that first, because you can find small ones that can just go right beside his bed. The small humidifiers care for to cost less than air purifiers and are really easy to use. My doctor recommended that I try a humidifier first and that if it wasn't help enough to get an air purifier also, but I've found that the humidifier is all I need.

Ok, so I have the Honeywell HHT081, and the red cleaning sunrise turned on. So I cleaned off the pre-filter, and vacuumed the two hepa filters as well. Then I turned it on, and the light is still red. Is it possible I need to vacuum it more?

A: I would find your owners handbook and then call there help line, or check the web site for trouble shooting. If none of that works, see if you have a warranty. I hope you get it definite. RB
